Why won't my tampon stay in when I go horseback riding?!

Question: Why won't my tampon stay in when I go horseback riding?
I'm an avid horse lover and like to ride them often. Problem is, during that time of the month when I don't feel my freshest, I can't seem to keep my tampon up inside of me when straddling a horse. It always seems to fall out. I've tried using super absorbency tampons, and even switched from the name brand ones to the larger, generic ones but no matter what, when I spread my legs to straddle the horse, it seems to fall out of my vagina. What should I do?

Answers:

because you have a heavy flow and a wide set vagina

also playtex sport

your horse

they may just not be the right size, idk...have you tried the sports kind? they're supposed to stay in better.

if you've already tried them, I'd say try pads when you're riding then, idk...I don't wear tampons, but I love riding horses as well, and pads have always worked fine for me...can't tell they're there, and they don't fall out or off lol

hope it helps

~my experience~

i found that when i rode horses too.

But what I found helped the most was changing from tampons to menstrual cups. Menstrual cups are reusable and hold the blood, rather than absorb it. menstrualcups.org is an excellent resource for people exploring and using menstrual cups.

Have you tried riding side-saddle? Instead of straddling the horse, sit with both legs on the left side of the horse.
That's what women did in days-of-old.

maybe wear pads instead of tampons?:)
