It's different for everyone, it isn't 30 days exactly for every woman, that's more of an average. Some people get it every 15 days, some people get it every 45 days. If you've recently gotten your first period, it'll take a while for your periods to become regular. Just make sure you always have a pad or tampon with you. I keep track in my phone's calendar. But like I said, don't expect your periods to be regular right away.

It's only the 23rd, don't worry about it... You actually usually get it every 24-28 days..
Some girls menstrual cycle is messed up and have to take birth control to regulate it. But if you only got it last month don't worry about it. It comes and goes when you first start.
If you really want to keep track then just put a red dot or a mark on the calendar the first and last day you have it.

Personal Experience and others

Oh girl- you don't have to get it every 30 days right on the nose. It can range anywhere between 24-38(!) days and still be normal. And it's REALLY normal for things to be irregular when you are just starting, the first few years even, so don't stress. Some girls take birth control to regulate things, but mostly because somebody tells them there's something wrong, when, in fact, it's TOTALLY NORMAL.
I personally suggest marking the days on your calendar that you are bleeding, and then journal any signs and symptoms you have each cycle of PMS or your period approaching.

Get to know your body, girl, and it's OWN cycles and rhythms!

Use a calendar the next time your period comes on and if your period just started about 3 yrs ago sometimes your period will be a little irregular if you really think something is wrong go to a doctor and get it checked out or talk to your mom or a female in your life. Hope this helps you

15 yr old female i just know this.

You're probably just irregular. I don't think there is anyone out there, without birth control, that has perfect periods. Instead of getting 12 periods a year (12 months) many get more like 8-10. If you're irregular, you could get as little as four.

I'd suggest an online calendar, like beinggirl or kotex. Those websites provide you with calendars made especially for periods.

The average menstrual cycle is 28 days - but that's different for everyone.

For example I have a cycle of 34 days, some women have far longer cycles, some are far shorter, and during your teens it's totally normal for your cycles to change a lot because the same part of your brain that's responsible for your cycles is also responsible for you developing physically/sexually so is busy, it also takes time for everything in your reproductive cycle to work together as it should. Don't expect your periods to start becoming regular until your twenties.

Keep track of your periods by noting them down on your calendar, or there are lots of online sites that help you keep track of your periods, like http://www.mymonthlycycles.com - day one of 'true bleeding' (rather than spotting or very light bleeding) is day one of your period. Count from that first day till the first day of your next period, then you'll have an idea roughly how long your cycles will be. It's normal for cycles to differ by a few days every time, but if you count the length of your cycles over a few months you'll be able to see an average length between periods to help you determine roughly how long it is between your periods.

Know that your body changes as your hormones change too, as well as noting down your periods on calendars you can also keep track of other things like changes to your discharge - after a while you will see your discharge changing a certain way just before your periods, or may notice other things - for example when my period is due my urine changes its smell, my breasts become larger, my skin becomes more sensitive, my sense of smell becomes stronger, etc. You will be able to see very clearly when you ovulate because you'll have wetter feeling stretchy egg-white type discharge, this is about two weeks before you have your periods. Knowing how your body changes like this helps you determine when your periods are due even if you don't note them down on your calendar.

My wife always made a little red dot on the ccalendaron the 5 days a month she had her period. You say you are only 14 so your body is still getting used to the fluctuating hormones. It is not uncommon for some your age to have very irregular periods until your body get regulated.

You should mark it on a calendar! It would be really helpful so you can know it's coming, and so if your periods stay irregular you can show the doctor your calendar and your irregularity pattern. You could mark it on your phone too! Good luck hon!:)

The period is located in between the < and ? keys on the keyboard. Although you have to hold the shift key in order to access it.

i mark a star on the calendar

I use an online tracker- femilia.com to track my period.
