How long does it take for a period to become regular?!

Question: How long does it take for a period to become regular?
I got it in November 2009 and it was all over the place...like maybe 2 months in a row then a 6 month gap...I haven't had it in 2 months now. I'm 13 and I'm starting to get really worried that it's not regular??

Answers:

There is no specific length of time when your periods will become regular, and some women's periods never become regular - but at your age it's totally normal to be irregular. Don't expect your periods to regulate until you're twenties - during your teens and early twenties you're still developing physically and sexually, this effects your cycles and it does take time for everything to work as it should.
