Sleeping while on my period...?!

Question: Sleeping while on my period...?
Okay, so I wear pads (Fear of tampons) and I am afraid that I'll get blood on my pants.
I have towels and stuff. And I also know that sleeping on your side helps, but after a while my leg starts to hurt from being on one side.
Please help me because I am going to a sleepover tomorrow!
Thanks

Answers:

I have a fear of tampons also, and the same blood on bed fear, try wearing 2 pads, one in front of the underwear the other at the back. That way it'll feel better and you won't seem awkward with a pillow between your legs.

I've tried this and it's worked.

Well, try and get absorbent pads if you are that nervous about it leaking through. However, it usually doesn't happen if you are prepared and are properly "ready to go" for night time. Also, maybe if you just put two pads on, bottom to tip, that might help(: It also helps a lot of you toss and turn or move a lot in your sleep. Hope I helped!

Change the pad more often, wear tighter panties to hold it closer to your body. sleeping on your back should be ok, you might put a towel under you "just in case" You will be viewed as very adult, becuase you are ready.

Good luck

they make special pads for at night. they're huge, but they worked for me before i started using tampons. also, if your really uncomfortable, you can always set an alarm and just change in the middle of the night

They sell pads for the night where blood usually doesn't get on the bed. But you can also check during the night.

Try the extra long overnight pads, also wear a pair of shorts or leggings under your pajama pants

Maybe you could buy overnight pads? My friend sets an alarm to wake up after a few hours of sleeping to change her pad.

I get toilet paper, and fold it , and place it on the edge of pad, (by your butt) so you don't leak (:

you can put a pillow between your legs. that'll help with cramps and leg pain

As a note you can't use tampons while sleeping anyway due to the length of time you sleep and gravity meaning less blood flowing down into the tampon - pads, menstrual cups or softcups are fine to use overnight, but never wear tampons overnight.

You're a bit limited right now as you only have till tomorrow to plan, get overnight pads which are bigger and more absorbent, change your pad before bed too. Wear maybe a few layers of dark underwear to keep the pad close to your body, and dark PJ's, and put an old towel down just in case you do leak - if it's all girls they'll understand this, and I'm sure the person who lives there will appreciate you doing this rather than have you leak on their beds. Take spare pads, underwear, PJ's etc. with you just in case you leak and some bags in case they don't have a bin in their bathroom.

Using the right type of pads will help - winged will stay in place better, but it's preferable to use brands like Lunapads http://www.lunpads.com as they don't come unstuck or get gathered-up, being more comfortable than commercial brands like Always also means you move about less in your sleep so better protection, you can also add extra liners for overnight.

Use period panties, three types;

Period panties #1 - leak-proof.
Like Sexy Period http://sexyperiod.com or Remii http://www.remiiunderwear.com these are underwear with leak-proof layers to prevent leaks during your period, just a little bit more protection.

Period panties #2 - padded.
Like Lunapanties http://lunapads.com/underwear.html these are underwear with pads built-in, so if you wear them with pads that's twice as much protection, and as they're built-in it means no matter how much you move about they won't gather-up so give better protection than pads alone.

Period panties #2 - belted.
You have period belts like Reddy's or more modern styles like WeMoon https://www.wemoon.com.au/secure/index.p… which are like underwear but the underwear part is like a pad, they're good as they sit closer to your body so don't move about as much, and like padded underwear you can wear them with pads.
