Questions About Peeing At The Doctor's Office..?!

Question: Questions About Peeing At The Doctor's Office..?
okay, so I'm going to the doctor to get my knee checked out tomorrow.
Are they going to make me take a pee test? I'm a teenage girl, if that changes anything.
And can a pee test show whether your a virgin or not? I know it's a stupid question, but still.

And what all can a pee test tell you?

Thanks!

Haha, I really doubt that you will have to give a urine sample. There is really no reason for it, if you are just having your knee checked. A urine test can not tell anyone if you are a virgin. The only real way anyone can tell if you are a virgin is by your word...or if you get knocked up. Historically, an intact hymen was the sign of a virgin, but today there are many ways to tear it that don't involve sex. Things as simple as athletic activity, using a tampon, or masturbating. Of course, if your hymen is intact then it is pretty safe to say you are a virgin. But a urine test does not show that.

There is a long list of things tests that can be done on a urine sample. For a routine urine test, like one that sometimes accompanies a physical, they are probably just checking to make sure everything is normal. But urine tests can also be done to check for certain drug use (including weed) or for some STDs. But many of these tests are specific, and each one costs money, so they don't randomly start doing tests unless required.

Urine tests help doctors make sure your kidneys and other organs are functioning properly. The urinalysis can also help you find out if you have a urinary tract infection or bladder infection. A urinalysis shows the number of red and white blood cells. The urine test can show when there is bacteria in your system. A urinalysis can show when there is glucose in your system that was not filtered by your kidney. The urine test will show the ph level of your urine, or in other words, it will show how acidic the urine is. The urinalysis will also show the concentration of your urine. A urine test is used as a pregnancy test..They wont know if you are a virgin or not from it.. :) A urine test can also test for drugs.

been there done that

Hello :)

Okay... first off... NO. The doctor will not ask you to take a pee test. You are getting your knee checked out and ur pee will have nothing to do with that. Trust this.. I'm 100% certain.

To your second question, NO. A pee test will not tell the Dr. if you are a virgin or not.
However, if you are not a virgin..... you should tell your doc so he can make sure you get the proper check-ups. When you become sexually active, these are very important. You shouldn't be embarrassed and doctors have to be confidential... they can not go telling others ur business...

When you do provide a urine sample... it is usually checking for things like pregnancy, diabetes, ur urine.. (of there is blood in it) PH, protein,Nitrites. Bacteria that cause a urinary tract infection (UTI), White blood cells... other important stuff...

When your at the doctor's office... you can ask them ANYTHING.. I've had this same question about both giving blood and pee. The doc or the nurses will tell you everything. They hear it all the time and they have an obligation to tell you.

Hope this was helpful.

Carrie

You shouldn't need one if you're only going for your knee. And I'm pretty sure the only way they would know from a pee test if you're not a virgin is if you had an infection caused sexually. But they shouldn't need one.
