how do i tell my mom i wanna use tampons?!

i had the exact same problem..... okay so not when i was 12....

i started using tampons when i was 15 but i brought my own as i couldn't think of anything more humiliating then telling my mum. And it's easy for people to say ''oh you should be able to tell your mum anything'', but not everyone's parents are laid back/understanding about things like that...

when my mum realised i hadn't been using the pads that she continued to buy, i had to tell her i didn't want to use them....when she asked why, i said that pads made me feel unclean, i was too heavy and tampons worked better for me. She understood and now she knows to buy them instead of pads.

Just cos your sisters waited for ages to use them doesn't mean you need too. if you want to try one, then tell your sister that you would like to try one cos your periods are really heavy or whatever is going on and surely she'll give you one. Then if it doesn't work for you then stick to pads until a bit later on.....

and if tampons do work for you then just explain to your mum how using pads makes you feel gross etc. and if she's not understanding you can always ask your sisters to get them for you until your mum gets the point.

but your mum will respect your honesty even if at first she's reluctant to let you use them......at 12 i wouldn't want anything up my vagina, but if you're comfortable with that then cool :)

Maybe your older sister prefers pads, that's why she uses them? I wouldn't worry about it, the worst that will happen is she'll say no and the you are no more worse off than you are now, just tell her exactly what you wrote here. TBH i don't think that anyone is too young for tampons, so long as they are comfortable using them themselves

Just tell her that you don't like pads and want to try tampons. You're not too young, if you have your period you're not too young to use tampons. And because your sister doesn't use them I don't think your mom will care if you want to because its a personal preference. You should be fine.

This may be weird or bad but if you were every at your sisters steal some from her or maybe borrow from a friend? Stealing may sound bad but I think you should go for it
Or I'd just like text or Facebook your mom if she has that
If not just get some by yourself or just subtley get some with your mom

When you're at the store with her, go get a box of tampons and put them in the cart. Or just flat out ask her if you could try them.

Show your mom your bloody crouch. She'll get the hint

Discard futile worries..go tell your sister straight ..your hygiene and necessaries are not a sin !
