What to do when the box says?....?!

Question: What to do when the box says?....?
My boyfriend and I have been trying out the new Bare condoms... he doesnt seem to like them but i won't have unprotected sex haha so i make him wear one. Anyways i was reading the back and it said 'do not use with any ointments, etc. as this can damage the condom" Well what if we were to use a lubrication or numbing gel? We did the first time and i was surprised to read that on the back. Is that strange? Or what else can a person use? Thanks, guys!

Answers:

Water based lubricants are fine to use. Most lubes sold for sex will be water based. The numbing gel is probably fine as well. It is just anything that is oil based will damage the condom.

My wife and I always used Durex with a spermicidal lubricant so no additional lube was needed.

It could be because the gel will make the condom slide off? Use foreplay

Trojan. Dam there good

When the box says this, you should know enough about how to use condoms and other safe sex tools to know what it means - it means ointments, particularly anything containing oils that will damage the condoms. As condoms have lubrication, and as lubrication is a vital part of practising safer sex, it doesn't mean 'don't use lubrication' - use lubrication and numbing gels that are meant to be used with condoms, as long as they're water-based there is no problem.

Don't 'make' him wear one, if he doesn't like condoms then it is your responsibility to make him feel better about using them, if he doesn't find them comfortable then try different brands and make sure you have the correct size and are leaving enough room in the tip. If it's condoms in general then make condoms more fun, and make sure he understands it's better than giving each other STD's or having to support a child for the rest of his life. Condoms don't have to be bad, make them fun!
