is this a normal checkup for a 13 year old girl?!

Question: Is this a normal checkup for a 13 year old girl?
i went in and got my weight, height, blood pressure and a shot. than i went in the gown thing and i had to lay down. my dad and a male doctor where the only people in there. than he riped a hole in the gown around the stomach area and he pulled up my underwear for like 10 seconds and looked. i feel really violated and i just wanted to know if this is normal. thanks :)

Answers:

Yeah he was just checking your pubic hair. My doctor does this too. He also lifts up my bra too.
Anyway, thats what they do. They are doctors.

This is not enough information to judge whether this was normal or not, however, a female nurse should have been in the room with you. This is the protocol. The next time you go to the doctor, if there is no female nurse in the room, you have the right to ask for one. If the doctor refuses, you also have the right to refuse to be examined.

No it's not normal and any normal father would not want to be present in such a situation nor would he allow a male doctor to examine you without a female assistant present. If this is a true story your privacy has been violated. If the situation arises again insist that a female be present and no fathers allowed.

i would definately suggest to ask to go with you're mom next time.
there should be a female in there.
i would feel violate and awkward too.
just brush this incident off your shoulders.
but talk to your mom, or aunt or something. have them go next time.
..im the kinda girl who doesnt like ANYONE looking at me.
not my parents, or doctor. female or male.
but if i have to, i dont like my parents in the room,
and i prefer a female doctor any time of the day.

He was probably just checking to see if your pubic hair is normal. It's weird and awkward.. but the same thing happened to me and I was with my mom and she said that it was fine.

Sorta..
