First off, I have to vent because I have endometriosis and am always looking receive and give advice to others who have endo. It drives me nuts when people who don't have endo respond to my messages with some link they googled or advice despite not having endo.

That said- I do have endo and have had three surgeries. I had the nerves to my uterus severed and had a LOT of relief until about 3 weeks ago. A chocolate cyst had formed on my ovary and the nerves to the ovary follow a different pain path. It was the most ungodly pain I have ever felt in my entire life! And I've had endo for over 15 years. Up until this point I have always had endo found on my bladder and uterus. My tubes and ovaries were typically clear of endo tissue.

Now, I can tell you from experience that endo is painful anywhere is grows- however the chocolate cysts on the ovary should be renamed the ovary eating cyst from hell because that is what it feels like. The word chocolate implies something delicious and good. A chocolate cysts is anything but.

What does concern me is that you are in pain. It's something that I struggled with for years and I have found that some gynecologists do not take the amount of pain women in their teens and 20's to be in serious. You MUST demand that your doctor prescribe you a narcotic pain relief. I have used several. If you pain is EXTREMELY bad I suggest speaking to them about vicodin or something stronger. For everyday pain I have found relief with tramadol. Believe me, I had to get about 30 vicodin to get through the chocolate cyst experience this month!

If you are in pain and your doctor is not responding, you must start your search for an experienced gynecologist who specializes in Endometriosis. Do not just let one doctor treat you. Go for the BEST. Look for a large practice in a major city and inquire about who specializes in endo. ALWAYS get a second and third opinion. There are many treatments for endo and you will need to decide which is best for you and your body.

I wish you the best. If you have any other questions please don't hesistate to ask. I've also posted a lot of advice on yahoo answers about support groups n such. You may want to look into some of those.

Good Luck, I know it sucks.

i didnt have chocolate cyst. but i had cysts and endometriosis. Surgery wasn't that bad, they give u pain pills and in a few days you will be back to normal.
