Is my birth control safe while I'm on anxiety and depressants?!

Question: Is my birth control safe while I'm on anxiety and depressants?
I just started taking anti-anxiety and antidepressants for my anxiety (Lorazepam and Paroxetine, to be specific). I am also on birth control and my fiance is visiting me next month and chances are we're going to.....you know. I had called my doctor and he "thought" my BC would be still safe (unlike if I was antibiotics), but does anyone on here know if my BC will definitely still be safe or we should use secondary precautions?

Answers:

I don't know myself. But if your doctor only 'thinks' you will be safe, I would get a second opinion, and definately use secondary precautions.

I have never heard of anti-anxiety meds messing with BC. BUT I know if you are on A-A meds and get the depo shot. . . they don't mix at all. I hope you are just taking BC Pills. Depo makes you 100X more moody and more depressed. Your doctor shouldn't have put you on it if he knew you were on A-A meds. Good luck!

if its prescription birth control nd prescription antidepressent then ur doc already knows that you have them both. if its bad he/she wouldve said something. if not, always ask him/her.
