Am I Ok? Is This Normal?!

Question: Am I Ok? Is This Normal?
I'm 13 years old. Lately I've been feeling like I've been getting my period all the time. My lower back has been hurting. I've been feeling sick. I've also been hungrier than normal. Am I ok? Is this normal? I'm a virgin so pregnancy is out of the question.

Answers:

Honey that is perfectly normal. You are experiencing PMS and almost every woman does... some worse than others. You are having a high amount of hormones and until you develop some type of regular menstrual flow, you probably will experience this stuff. You can take meds and use a heating pad on your back and stomach to help with the pain and nausea. As for being hungry it would be good to get yourself in an exercise program. It'll even out the hormones and allow your body to be in a routine and you'll feel better. Make sure you eat healthy choices. Lots of fruits and vegetables. You won't believe the difference that will make.

My period was sooo bad when I started it that after a couple of years of pain my mom put me on birth control pills. I don't know how your parents will feel about that but I was still a virgin and didn't/wasn't having sex but needing SOMETHING to regulate my cycle. It made a WORLD of difference. I never even had PMS symptoms after that. The pill is not for everyone but if it gets bad enough, it's an option. You don't want to go through your life being miserable because you're a woman.
Take care and good luck!

Are you just starting out? I mean, are you just starting to get your periods? Because the first year, you can be out of whack for them. Still, I recommend talking to your doctor about it. You are starting to grow up and hit that age where things get crazy so that could just be it. It happens to all of us.

To the person who said she was anemic, that may not be the case. Just because you have more than one period in a month doesn't mean you are. Could mean something is wrong with you. I've had more than one in a month, but that was because I have PCOS and my periods aren't normal without medication.

Maybe your body is developing, and hunger is normal around that age, especially puberty.

No, that is definitely not normal. But hey, neither is my profile picture!

if u get ur period twice a month then you are anemic. if you dont, then those are all symptoms of a period. good lunch :)
