So am I old enough????????!

Question: So am I old enough????????
I'm trying out for the swimming team and I'm almost 15 and am I old enough to use a tampon to where it won't hurt??????

Answers:

Yes you are old enough. If you are overly concerned that it will hurt, it will. If you're scared to put one in, you'll tense up and your vaginal muscles will contract, then you won't be able to get it in and will likely hurt yourself trying. Otherwise, it doesn't hurt at all. I used my first one at 16, before I ever had intercourse (just mentioning it, because of course it may be easier for women having intercourse to insert a tampon and I just want to let you know that this is not always the case) I was afraid and had to calm myself down after several uncomfortable attempts, and then it just went in and was so easy and painless when I was relaxed it made me feels stupid for worrying. And if you decide use them BE SURE TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. Those instructions are not to be ignored. You have to know that you can only keep them in for a certain amount of hours in a day and should only use them maximum three times a week, and preferably not everyday, but every other day. Once they're in, they don't feel uncomfortable (or they shouldn't) you shouldn't even notice it's there. You can't feel them (you're not supposed to and if you do, talk with your doctor if it's uncomfortable). They are awesome and of course, nobody but you knows you're wearing one. You can swim with it, dance, sleep (but try not to do that too often and not for too long), exercise, etc.

Anyway, good luck, and I hope you find them to your liking and enjoy the benefits :)

your age will not have anything to do with if a tampon will hurt. it depend mostly on your insertion technique and how anxious you are about inserting it.
you are definitely old enough, i started using them at 13 because i used to dance.
try to relax and follow the instructions. aim the tampon slightly back (your vagina does not go directly up). once the tampon is in you should not feel it. if you can it is not in far enough.
if you get pain when you remove the tampon, you have not left it in long enough. but don't leave it in longer than 6 hours. start using a mini sized tampon. it is like anything new that you try, it will take several times to get used to it and to know when to remove it.

There's no set age to use tampons. You can have your period when you're 10 and use one...so go ahead. You can't wear a pad in the pool anyways, so that's really your only other option (besides cups but those are a whole nother matter)

Of course lol. It will feel uncomfortable for a little while but you will get use to it.

Life

You should be fine.
