Periods are irregular up to 2 years from the first time you get them. Other girls body's work like clockwork and get theres every 28 days from the word go! Periods can last from 2 days up to a week. Your body will sort its self into a pattern eventually and you will get used to it.

Also, if you have cramps, place a hot water bottle on your tummy and curl up in a blanket and watch a movie, this is what i do when i hvae mine. Dont let periods stop you from doing your usual daily routine. You can still go swimming with a tampon in, you can play sports. Everything you used to do, you can still do. Periods just show you that you are developing into a woman and that your body is healthy.

Yes indeed! I'm quite certain that it is the onset of menarche. That's exactly how it was for me (except for the loving food and mood swings, but those are common anyway). The "white goo" is a discharge that let's you know you're period is coming (don't feel like explaining it more). It will change in color, from yellowish, to brown or dark brown. And you have pubes. Perfect setting for the beginning of womanhood :)
