Period+really long school trip=Nightmare! Help!?!

Question: Period+really long school trip=Nightmare! Help!?
Okay so my period was supposed to start 2 weeks ago and i thought they were starting to settle down :/ but its been 6 weeks and it hasn't come and i'm going on my school trip the day after tomorrow. The trip involves 6 hours on the coach both ways climbing kayaking rafting and hiking up a Mountain (i somehow doubt they'll be any toilets on that Mountain to :S) I've been getting my periods for a year now but I don't see how i'm going to manage hiking up a Mountain all day without you know changing my pad. :/ and rafting and kayaking :@ should I just hope i don't fall in :S Oh and were also camping out all night one night. I've been to this place before when i was little and i know from what i remember that it isn't going to be easy. The majority of the trip are girls my age so surely i'll be possible because i'm sure lots of people might be in the same situation. i just want to know if any-ones ever been in a similar situation or if they have any tips!? I need all the help i can get!!

As gross as it may be, definitely wear a pad on the trip. A tampon can be more risky if you are not able to change it often. There are probably bathrooms somewhere, I somehow think that there will be bathrooms. I can't imagine they would make you go out in the woods or something on a school trip. As for rafting and such .. Just wear a pad with your bathing suit and put a pair of shorts over it. Unfortunately, there isn't much to get around it.

I went through a similar situation. Had to go rafting while on mine.

Heck with the pads, use tampons. Tampons are better because then if they are full it still kinda blocks you period a little bit and stalls it before it comes down, pads are ridiculous you feel like you peed on yourself and they shift around so you don't know if your period is going in the pad or leaking out the crotch of your pants.

Quiet a few of the girls will be in the same situation as you so have a word with one of the female teachers and find out what provisions will be made, after all, if they are under 50 they will be in the same position as you.

just use a tampon.
and then when you go pee just change it.or don't. tampons last longer.and it will be more comfortable for u.

you should go to doctor.

I did kinda the same thing when i had just started my period..i think it was like my fourth one..
Anyways, as disgusting as this is, we carried a backpack with us all the time, and i had a few ziplock bags, and toilet paper, because we would go on day canoe trips and such, and there were no bathrooms, so, i used tampons, and would take them out, stick them in toilet paper, and in the ziplock bag and back in a separate part of my bag , because i wasnt about to just huck it in the trees, then we would get back to camp, and i would just throw the bag out.
I know that gross, but i felt better doing it that way.

I do suggest using tampons though, if your going to be in water, and hiking it will be ALOT more comfortable!

Sixteen.
