Does it sound like this could be an ovarian cyst?!

Question: Does it sound like this could be an ovarian cyst?
I've been having some pelvic pain for three weeks or a month now. It's very slight and it comes and goes, but it's also persistent and hasn't gone away for good. It is on the right side of my vagina and it feels like it's down quite low, like maybe an inch up into my body (I have no idea if this is accurate - just my perception). I experience the pain as a slight ache or as a small strike every now and then. When I poke and prod the area, both from the outside and from inside my *ahem*, I feel no pain. Could it be an ovarian cyst? It feels much lower than I would expect my ovaries to be, but I can't think of another good explanation.

Answers:

No that is not a ovarian cyst at all. Your ovaries sit almost directly across from your belly button..not quiet but nowhere near where you are suggesting. You may be having cervical pain..sometimes from tampons, soap or unknown reasons the cervix can get irritated and/or infected. You should go in and get it checked by a doctor to make sure this isn't the case. If it is, you will need an antibiotic.

There are glands in that location that could be causing the discomfort. Ovarian cysts can be diagnosed by your doctor and if you are concerned by this pain you should be checked. A cyst can be a potentially dangerous thing as it can rotate or rupture causing internal bleeding. See your doctor.

It sounds like it could be. Take a look at this article for a little more information: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article…

Best of luck to you!
