Going to get my first pap smear and im kind of worried because?...?!

Question: Going to get my first pap smear and im kind of worried because?...?
I will be honest i am rather young. And my normal doctor, who i go to for check ups has already lectured me on having sexual intercourse at a young age, and told me her opinion on it. I have to go get a pap smear because i had sex. And i am worried the gynecologist, like my regular doctor will lecture me on how i should have waited and her personal opinions on the matter. Are doctors even allowed to share there personal opinions(on this matter) with you?
Do you think she will judge me?

Answers:

i believe doctors are allowed to share their personal opinions, but i don't think they should. it's your choice. most doctors will not share their personal opinion, and the gynecologist should not, her job involves sexual health, so she should know that sex can be a good thing

my personal opinion is doctor have one aim that his/her patient should be cured and it gives a great pleasure to the doctor.
the lecture of doctor is the advice to the patient for betterment and should not be taken otherwise.

they shouldn't be judging you for having sex! she might talk about protection against diseases and pregnancy. I don't think she will judge you, thats just wrong to do that. good luck with your first pap smear. It doesn't hurt just uncomfortable.

If you are mature enough to be having sex, you should be mature enough to handle having a medical doctor inform you of their medical ~ and yes perhaps personal ~ opinion about underage sex.

Grow up!

Personal experience.

It is hard to predict just what the doctor will judge or not judge. And especially young people tend to bring to them some of the most money. Ignorance is very costly money wise in all fields of learning.
So he/she may be glad to see you for the money they get paid helping you.

Sometimes I believe they are not trying to judge you so much as help you. I new a woman that complained that she was sick all the time. After explaining to her what she was doing that was making her sick she got mad at me for wanting her to feel better. She said I made her feel guilty. I never thought she would feel guilty about it but rather she would learn from her mistakes and feel better.

So we do the best we can to help others feel better but - ultimately - they are ruled by the choices they make for themselves - for the course they take. You are the one in the drivers seat of your life. It is up to you how you live it. But I believe you are going to learn from your mistakes and see beyond the judgement to the caring that is really there to help you.
