Gym...swimming...period...?!

Question: Gym...swimming...period...?
I am on my first period and we are swimming in gym for the next two weeks, and I don't know what to do. Please don't say use a tampon because I went swimming with one today and it leaked through really fast because it Is really heavy.

Thanks for advice!

Answers:

The only way you can go swimming is to wear a tampon. You have to use thicker one when your periods heavy. For gym wear a light pad and compression pants that way it will move with you and be tighter to your body.

Tampons aren't that bad...I know they feel awkward and they're uncomfortable...but its pretty much the only way. Just wear a thicker tampon and if it still leaks, tell your gym teacher of your situation. She can't FORCE you to swim and I doubt she will if she knows your uncomfortable. If your gym teacher is a guy, then he probably won't even want to talk about it and will just say "you don't have to swim!" Problem solved.
I hope everything works out for you. If all else fails, ask your mom for a note and in the note have her explain your situation and for her to tell the coach that you would rather not wear a tampon. But usually the period stops anyway while in the water, but if for some odd reason yours doesnt, just do any of the above.
Peace!

Normally the cool water makes your blood vessels contract and you will not bleed much during the swim and you can just use a light pad just before going out. But if this does not work for you. Tell your teacher - sorry - I'm bleeding to much to swim today and make it up later. That is the best you can do.

Usually, once you go in water, your period stops coming out.
So maybe before going in the actual pool, take the shower so that your body gets exposed to the water.
Or, tell your teacher that you're on your period and hopefully she'll let you off until you're done.

If your teacher is female tell her u got ur first period and that ur not used to tampons yet I think she will understand

well what obsorson did u use u probly need to use a super or super +
