Metronidazole & period?!

Question: Metronidazole & period?

I started taking the metronidazole gel treatments 3 days ago so i only have 2 days left of the treatment. I was supposed to get my period today, but it hasnt started yet. I havent even experienced any of the symptoms that i usually do. I am sexually active, but before i spend money on tests or get my hopes up that i might be pregnant I would like to know is anyone has experienced a late period while using this gel or if the gel can cause a late period. Any help would be nice!

Cold symptoms (cough, sore throat and a stuffy nose) are possible side effects of using metronidazole gel. Headache, nausea, tearing of the eyes and experiencing an unusual taste in the mouth (metallic) are also possible side effects. Other possible effects include dry, scaly and itchy skin (including in the vaginal area), as well as a vaginal discharge, an individual might experience a tingling sensation, or numbness, in their hands or feet. It isn't uncommon to sometimes feel burning or stinging right after medication application.

So from what I've read the answer is no, it shouldn't affect your cycle at all.
