I have PMDD and NOTHING helps?!

Question: I have PMDD and NOTHING helps?
So I get really bad PMS. Like I will throw up, I'll get chills and a fever, and the cramps keep me from standing up and my whole body just goes to complete ****. Midol doesn't work and I've been to the doctors and I'm too young for anything to be prescribed to me. Today, I got sent home from work because I was so sick and I can't miss work because I REALLY need the money right now...help? What works? I'm desperate. It's literally every month that this happens on my period it's awful.

Answers:

i agree that you are old enough for birth control if you can work. you can also try a family planning centre for a prescription for the pill. they work with young people a lot so they can be very understanding.
did you have a doctor diagnose PMDD? because if you did not, you may have ovarian cysts or something else that is causing these problems. if a dr did diagnose PMDD, some medications for depression (SSRIs) can be prescribed for PMDD.

If you are old enough to work, then you are more than old enough to be put on birth control. Go back to the doctor (or to a diff doctor) and they will most likely put you on birth control. That is the only thing that helped me with mine and while I was waiting on full effectiveness of my birth control, they gave me over the counter pain and nausea pills which helped A LOT!
