Questions? Female issues...Help?!

Question: Questions? Female issues...Help?
Okay, so I'm 14, and I've had my period since July.
I just started using tampons a month ago. I got them in, they didn't hurt, but I could still feel them. Is that normal? They were in as far as possible...
Second question. I'm being forced to go to a turkey dinner tomorrow that our Realtor is cooking (My dad grew up with her, she found us a great house, and our kitchen is being remodeled, so she offered to cook us a healthy meal.) So I'm probably going to feel crappy through the whole thing, because my period started today :(
I'm getting seriously bad cramps, bloating, and I feel gross.
My question is basically that we're going to be there for about 4 hours or more. I have 2 lite tampons left, and a lot of regulars. I haven't quite found my absorbency yet.
Lites are soaked and leaking after about 3 hours. Regulars still have white on them after 6 hours, and they hurt like hell to take out...So which one should I use? If I go with a lite, I'd have to use a pad, too...I can only bring 1 tampon and 1 pad with me...(That's all I can fit in my purse)
Also, my mom wants me to dress up...I really don't feel like it.
I don't own any skirts or dresses. Any suggestions on what to wear, and how to deal with bad cramps? Plus, I'd love some tips to get rid of the zit forming on my chin....

When it comes to tampons it takes practice. =) Make sure that you change the tampons out, and don't forget about them...that's VERY important. Also, if you wear a tampon and you're scared that it will leak, try wearing a very thin pad also. Then, if your tampon leaked it wouldn't go through.
As far as your cramps go, heating pads work VERY well...one effective (but strange) way is to actually sit on the heating pad..it tends to alleviate the cramps just as well. Ask your mom about Midol. It can be bought over the counter like Advil or Tylenol and usually keeps cramps away for a few hours =)
Being active also helps to alleviate your cramps.
As far as what to wear, it's VERY easy to dress up jeans =) Try wearing ironed jeans with a dressy shirt..and maybe a pair of flats (or heels if you feel like it) with some jewelry. Maybe straighten or curl your hair?? =)
The zit...well..unfortunately at 14 you're only beginning to have acne problems. The best thing to do is wash your face with regular body soap every night in the shower..and in the mornings before you put your make up on. Try mixing an equal (yet small) amount of baking soda and peroxide to dab onto the zit..it should help clear it up.
I hope this helps, best of luck =)

Pads are more comfortable. Try buying one for heavy cycles. It doesn't have to be long, but better safe that sorry. Take 2 advil every 4 hours. (or any other pain reliever). I like wearing comfy clothes when I have my period (sweatpants mostly) . If your mom wants you to wear a dress, how about one with leggings or stockings underneath, so it doesn't feel so un comfy.

1.) Use regular your vagina will get use to it. i used ultra once and where the same age youll be fine
2.) yes its normal as long as it dont hurt
3.) Wear skinnes with a nice shirt or go shopping kk?:)
p.s buy a bigger purse

For cramps, use Midol, it works wonders :)

Well, I used to have terrible cramps too, so I know what you are talking about. First things first- stop using tampons. They can make cramps considerably worse. Switch to pads, or a different product (which i personally favor) the Diva Cup. Some other things that can help include taking omega 3 supplements, as these fatty acids can help to reduce cramping over time. For immediate relief, take a Mydol- though if you don't have any, any anti inflammatory and a cup of coffee will help. (the caffeine helps to dilate the blood vessels, and can help reduce cramping as a result). For the bloating, eating less salt and drinking more water can help. i have found that if I eat foods high in salt just before my period, I bloat considerably more. As to the zit on your chin, apply toothpaste (non- whitening) just before you go to bed.
I can't help you much with the clothing choice, though I will say that when I am feeling icky during my period, I hate to have pressure on my waist.A dress or skirt might be a good choice, as they seem to feel a little better for me.
Good luck!
