I have a cyst on my ovary?!

Question: I have a cyst on my ovary?
I got a cat scan a few weeks ago and they told me I had a cyst on my right ovary.
But this week I am getting an ultra-sound on my pelvic area.

I am currently taking birth control. But will the cyst go away?

Answers:

I get cysts in my ovaries a lot and I promise you they will go away. Just give it a month or two and usually they go away on their own.

What kind of birth control? Usually birth control pills control and/or eliminate large ovarian cysts. My mother gets them the size of golf balls and I will get one on a rare occasion if I stop my pill. My OBGYN put me on BC in the first place to eliminate them and their development.

Most cysts do go away. So probably in your case, too. But there are certain types of cysts that don't go away. So I can't say if it will go away or not without knowing the type of cyst.
