Okay mothers of daughters this is for you please......?!

Question: Okay mothers of daughters this is for you please......?
My daughter is 10, about to turn 11 in a couple months. The other morning she seemed to have started her first period. She had several spots, then later she seen a few more and that was it. She hasn't had any more at all. I am wondering if this is normal for a first time period. When I had my first one it was like a regular period, flow for seven days. Any thing you all can offer on this will be a help to me. Thanks in advance.

Answers:

It's normal to spot and even be incredibly irregular (having multiple spotting over a month or skipping a few months at a time). Her hormones are still regulating themselves and it can take a year or more to fully become regular. You're one of the lucky few who didn't have to go through such an unpredictable time!

Im not a mother but I was 11 when I had my first period and it was exactly the same way. The next month was like a normal period, it was like a little taste of what was to come.
