Does any other women find Tampons dangerous?!

Question: Does any other women find Tampons dangerous?
I am 14 and REFUSE to use them there dangerous, they can get stuck, and you can get sick from them:/

I have heard horror stories of them one of my friends mom used one and the string broke and it got stuck and it kept going up she said that her mom had to go the doctor and get it removed. Also my other friend used one and it got stuck 3 times and her mom had to dig it out 3 times! I have also read bad stories online.

I just want to know if any other women find them dangerous?

Answers:

yes i also find them dangerous

Never use a tampon as –
1) It has many risks
2) It causes our hymen to break
3) It causes a lot of pain to insert them
4) They cause TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome)
5) They contain bleach which is bad for our health

BUT, pads do not have such risks; they are easy to wear, comfortable and hygienic.

No, I do not find them dangerous because they aren't. If you need to go to a doctor to get a tampon out there's something seriously amiss. I've been using tampons since day 1 of my first period. Unfortunately, it looks like misinformed, wacky, conservative wing nuts actually have an audience for their false moral agenda.

Do you refuse to walk down the street also? Because your chances of getting run over by a car are higher than your chances of getting TSS from a tampon.

Your completely misinformed. Tampons aren't dangerous. I've been using them for 7 years and I'm still fine. You really need to get your facts right and not believe everything you hear or read online.

A tampon cannot get stuck or lost inside you because it literally has no where to go. If the string breaks, you could just grab it out anyway. Its not even that far up. The only thing that can go wrong is TSS, but its extremely rare and you can avoid it if don't wear a tampon for more then 6 hours.

I personally think pads are the more uncomfortable things ever. I cannot stand them. Even if tampons where dangerous-which they're not- I'd still chose them over pads. Ick.

I have a very bad fear of tampons. My first try with one was a disaster, and I thought I wasn't going to get it out xD. That was a very painful experience. A few other times, I didn't have the tampon put in right, and it caused me pain. I only use them if I'm on vacation and won't be able to swim because of my period. I would hate being stuck in the hotel room while everyone else is having fun outside. Not to mention, vacation is my time to destress and get away from everything.

I have been using tampons since I started my period and I have never had a problem. And I use them completely improperly too. Forget the 8 hour rule, I wear them until the leak however long that is! I have never had a string break, I have never gotten one stuck, I've never had any problems. Seriously, try them. They are just more comfortable.

It depends on the brand! I used U by Kotex and the string broke! Luckily it wasnt inside me! TEST IT FIRST! open one for testing before you use them and pull the string to make shure that the tampons have secure strings, put it in a cup of water, some tampons are painful because of the way they expand! Dont you want to see what it will do inside you? I ? Tampons but i ALWAYS test one first to make sure !

Tampons aren't all that dangerous. Tampon strings breaking and them getting lost in your vagina happens so rarely.

If you follow the directions your risk of getting TSS is really really low.

Edit- So will you have sex ever, or use sex toys- cause one could argue that those things aren't supposed to be in your vagina either.

My friends use tampons all the time no pads and they have never had any problems, it did take me a while to get it in right but apart from that there great. Everyone seems to get an embarrassing period story so don't worry. Make sure you get a quality band and you will be fine!
Good luck
