Question: I was raped as a child almost everyday for about a year. Now Sex hurts physically everytime. Why?

in the begining of penatration it feels like a sharp piercing pain like loosing my virginity. after a few strokes its more enjoyable but a few short minutes later it hurts terribly. To describe it feels like my walls tighten up and more sharp pain. Afterwards there is a lot of soar vaginal pain, and stomach cramps that last for a few hours. I have had this problem since i've started having sex 5 years ago. What is the physical Problem?

Answers:

You will have to have a complete physical with a GYN to answer that question. Damage may have been done internally as a result of your violation or you may also have a congenital problem that you are unaware of.

I don't suppose one has to be Sigmund Freud either to imagine you may have unaddressed psychological problems as well.

Have an examination and a frank discussion with your GYN and take it from there.

In addition to what Mary said: it's possible you have vaginismus--an involuntary clenching of your vaginal muscles as a result of what was done to you (lots of women have vaginismus, not related to sexual abuse but just to nervousness or fear about sex). This can be treated with time and patience as you learn to relax those muscles.
