Is it normal to have really light periods on the birth control pill?!

Question: Is it normal to have really light periods on the birth control pill?
periods were normal except for last and this month.. only had really light bleeding.. is this normal???

Answers:

yes, this is completely normal, and a great little side effect to the pill.

Yup. There are exceptions where some women bleed quite heavily, but most people I talk to have lighter flows. It is indeed a great perk.

Here's why. The red flow of your period is not actually your period. Your period is what happens when you ovulate and nothing happens sperm-wise. On the birth control pill, you're not ovulating. The red stuff is pretty much a breakdown of stuff inside. So... it tends to be less than your normal bleeding.

Yes it normal. That's one of the reason many of us take BC. I have to use less then 6 grams absorbency tampons now. So it's all normal :)

yes
