Is birth control supposed to stop your period the first time you take it?!

Question: Is birth control supposed to stop your period the first time you take it?
I had my my period yesterday and took the pill.I woke up today and I have no period what so ever.Im 14 and NOT sexually active.

Answers:

When you take the pill, you are stopping ovulation, to make a long story short. Which means any flow you have while on the pill is not actually a real period. Taking the pill affects your cycle by taking away that ovulation. You are releasing all these hormones into your system, which can... stop your period.

sorry but, why are you taking the pill if your first, fourteen! and second, not sexually active? plus, it shouldn't stop your period, it stops ovulation, but your uterus will still build up all that thickness of blood etc. and still break down as fertilisation didnt take place. but ask someone who you know and trust about it, to make sure:)

it effects people in different ways :) nothing to worry about!
