Does Metformin help with PCOS ?!

Question: Does Metformin help with PCOS ?

I was put on Metformin for PCOS, 500mg twice a day. Does it help ? I need to loose weight which was impossible .... does this help with loosing especially belly fat ?

I hav PCOS an used to tak metformin for lik 3 yrs..it didn't help me get preggo or lose weight.I weigh 130..all it really did wuz giv me terrible diarrhea erytime I ate..I guess it helps ppl..I've read on google that it helps many overweight woman wit Pcos hav regular periods, hav babies an lose weight..it did none of that for me..good luck

I do not know what that is but I did just find out that I have PCOS, and my doctor put me on birth control, because I don't want to get pregnant yet. I'm just wondering how long have you had it and what has worked for you so far? Sorry this doesn't answer your question but I just got diagnosed with something I had no clue about, and I'm trying to lose weight to because of the PCOS.
