how to talk to my mum about periods?!

Question: How to talk to my mum about periods?
OKay, so how do i bring up the subject? i havent started but would like to know when she started etc, and would just like to be able to talk openly.
I have a brother and sister and step dad living with us, so i would have to catch her alone.

What should i say to start it off?

Answers:

i had this problem before i got mine and i just brought it up i said like' my friends have started' and then got into it and asked the questions there is no unawkward way to go about it. its an awkward subject but everyone has them. and now ive got mine i dont usually talk to my mum about it

It depends if you've started or not?
But when you catch her alone just laugh and say .. sooo periods huh? so that it's not awkward. And she'll probably say something like: What about them? And then pounce and say when did you first start? and try to get into a discussion like that.
I said laugh first, just so that you can make it a bit more light-hearted so it's not an intense, awkward discussion! Trust me, that always helps. that was how i started it off anyway ...

good luck! xx

what i did x

There really isn't a good way to start it off non-awkwardly. Sorry. :P

I'd just try to catch her when she's alone, or ask her if you could talk to her. (Like "Mom, can I talk to you for a minute?" and if nosy brother is like ?__? then say "Alone? About some personal stuff.") Then just ask her how periods and stuff work (when you're alone).

G'luck.

when u guys are driving alone just say You: Hey mum, urmum: Yes? u:can we talk? mum:sure?
ect also ask ur sis : ) or just talk to me im a girl
