Help after an all nighter?!


Question: Help after an all nighter?
Of course I know to drink caffeine but what are some other ways I can keep myself alert and aware to get through classes today? A short nap is not an option. My brain becomes so cloudy and I get far more anxious and paranoid when sleep deprived so any tips would be welcomed..

Answers:

caffeine may be a stimulant, but will soon cause you to be worse than before after you crash. green tea is a much more natural energy boost and will provide you with hours of energy with MUCH less of a crash.
another possible option is a glass of cold water periodically (say each hour drink 4oz of ice water). the cold will give you a shock and this will give the feeling of being awake and alert



When you are sleep deprived there is not alot you can do.
What I find fantastic when I have been awake for 24-36 hours (due to sick kids), is eat!
When I snack, when TOTALLY sleep deprived I find that if I eat something (something small) then I get a sudden burst of energy that last about a half hour. So eat something small every 3/4's of an hour. It really works. Caffeine will only make you jittery.

So give the snacking a go :-)
