Is it always first mental abuse and then physical?!

As a male it makes me so mad that other men can treat women this way in a relationship. I have had a few female friends who have been in abusive relationships, and it always starts with the man getting the women to believe she is not good enough and has no friends, and make her feel worthless. Even when women do get out of the relationship, the man sometimes finds a way to get back into her life - so please don't let that happen.

After that happens the alcoholism and the physical abuse starts, and because she has lost all of her friends she has no-one to turn to, and he never lets her go out on her own etc etc.

The feelings may take a while to go away, especially if the abuse has been going on sometime, but being with friends and talking things over will help - possibly with a counsiller, but even better than that - just do things you used to enjoy with friends, and don't be put off from dating other men. There are some really nice guys in the world I promise :)

I would think this is mental or psychological abuse. I would just remember that there are so many guys out there who will treat you like a queen and love you for all that you are. And try not to look back in the past but towards the future. The past is the past and it will forever be behind you. There will be much better things that will come in the future. Believe me you will find him :)
