in the state of illinois, does a 16 year old have to get a pap smear to be put o!

Question: In the state of illinois, does a 16 year old have to get a pap smear to be put on birth control?
I know it varies by state, and I haven't found anything online that says whether or not she has to. I have heard that in the state of Illinois, no woman under the age of 25 has to get one. I heard that this law just passed not too long ago b/c before, any woman who was being put on birth control had to have a pap smear done.
Any ideas?

Answers:

To my knowledge, NO state REQUIRES that you have a pap smear or even a pelvic exam before being put on hormonal birth control. Hormonal birth control DOES require a doctor's Rx, but the actual procedures and exam done in obtaining that prescription is up to the doctor.
