Period problems! Help please!?!

Question: Period problems! Help please!?
Got my period yesterday and im 15 and im so scared! This morning i woke up with so much blood it ruined my pj shorts and my underwear! and is it weird for period blood to be at the top of your pad? Like it is way at the top. Also, i tried putting a tampon in and it hurt so badly! Like i put it in and it felt so uncomfortable! And when i tried to take it out i wanted to cry! Please help me! Today to school im wearing 2 pairs of undies with 2 pads. And my school is going on break for a week. Will that be enough time for me to get used to my period? Is it normal for you to bleed like almost all day? How long will this last? Is there some kind of pill to take to reduce your period? Like birth control? What about seasonique? Help!

Don't panic! I was 11 when mine started. Use pads to start with. The ones with wings will keep it in place. Tampons get easier to use with practice and when you get older. You shouldnt have a tampon in a night as they need to be changed every 6-8 hours. Make you you get the applicator ones to begin with, when you are ready. You can get larger pads for night time and double up if you need to. Periods will come every 21-28 days.It varies for every person and they last 3-6 days. They blood flow is heaviest for 1st and 2nd day. I know sometimes it feels like everyone can tell you have your period but its really not the case and don't forget that every other girl is feeling exactly the same. It just takes time to get used to. I would recommend talking to someone, your mum, a friend or relation. Girls usually are very open with each other and you'll find your friends have the same fears! You will need to dicuss birth control with your parents and doctor as you are 15. It does help with flow and pain but it can also affect your moods/weight etc. There are many types. Just don't panic. Give your body and your mind time to get used to it. :) It will be ok!

Try using overnight pads from Always. Sometimes you can have a heavy period. If you just started your period it's normal to feel that way,but your period will act funny at first.

uhh, you bleed for seven days..straight...hasn't someone like your mom or health class told u that?

First, calm down. Talk to your mom, grandma, aunt or any trusted female...hell even a teacher that you feel close to, privately of course. And yes, sometimes a heavy flow happens. Since this is your first time it will take a little practice on exactly where to position the pad in your undies that best accommodates your body. Next, your body may not be ready for a tampon yet. If it hurts, don't force it. If you can, keep a change of undies and pants in your locker or book bag in case of an accident. Change your pad often. You now will need to educate yourself about the different types of pads and the different types of adsorbancies that there are. Don't be embarrassed to ask a woman for help in maneuvering your way into this new part of your life. We've all been there and have survived. It's natural and it happens to every female. I wish you the best of luck.

While sleeping you move, which causes your pad to move around and can causes leakage, odd placement of blood, etc. That is all normal. You bleed all day long when you have your period, there is no break. But there is light at the end of the tunnel! It gets lighter as the week goes on. So, for now it's horrible and heavy, but give it a day or two and it'll slack off to a point where it's not nearly so bad. As for the tampon, read the instructions included in the box. The positions may seem weird, but they really do help to make it not painful. And get the "regular" or "light" absorbency until you're more comfortable with them.

It's normal to bleed consistently for up to seven days. I wouldn't use a tampon until you're more used to getting your period. When you go to sleep, you move and your pad shifts in your underwear which could cause the blood to be in different parts of the pad. it's no big deal. And there are birth control pills you can take to regulate your period, make a doctor appointment and talk to them about it. Getting your period is a natural park of life, just relax. The more you freak out the more uncomfortable it will be. Good luck!
