When do most girls start shaving?!

Question: When do most girls start shaving?
I am 13 and the hairs on my legs are starting to go darker,
i have a few questions about

-whats a easy and not so awkward way of asking my mum about starting to shave?

-when did you or someone you know start?

-whats the best way to do it?

-how far should you shave? a few of my friends shave a part of their thighs to the length of their school shorts is this good or bad?

thanks

Answers:

Most girls usually start shaving between 10 and 16 and most commonly 12-14. I started when I was 12 with my mom's permission, so if you feel compelled and feel the need to start shaving, don't be afraid to ask! You will find it's really not that awkward once it's done and over with. Just tell her you're interested in shaving and let it go from there. If she wants you to wait, wait. Some parents make you wait until a certain age, so it depends on what your mom says, but you're definitely at a good, average age to start shaving or feeling self-conscious about your un-shaved legs. My friend is a year and a half younger than me (I'm 15), and had to wait until she was 12 to shave hers and when she was 11 she always wore those tan panty-hose to make them look shaved, so there's an idea if you don't have your mother's permission.

The best way to do it is in the shower/back (obviously) with shaving cream or hair conditioner, you can use soap but it can clog your razor faster, and stroke upwards. You can shave however much of your legs you want or allowed. A lady I know only shaves from her ankles to her knees, whereas I shave the bottoms of my feet all the way up my legs to my bum and hips. You can ask your mom to show you if you need to. Mine showed me how when I first started. There are electric razors out there that you don't have to use with water, but I have one and they don't work as well as shaving in water, of course, it depends on what brand and way you use and like it! And if you're scared of cuts and razor burn, don't worry, you have a lifetime ahead of you and I guarantee you will get a couple, if not A LOT of razor cuts and kicks (I have a permanent razor scar on my ankle:p), but when it all comes down to it, they're not that bad and don't hurt too much depending on how you handle pain. For razor burn you can use aloe vera gel and lotion to help calm the pain. It can also depend on the razor and of course YOU.

Hope I could help!!!! Good luck!?

If you ask your mom with a straight face and don't look in embarrassed it will be a lot easier. She will understand. A girl should start shaving whenever she feels it's comfortable to. I started shaving last year and I'm 12 turning thirteen in a few days. Be careful when you shave and make sure you use some sort of soap, shaving cream is the best, or else you may get cuts- these can be embarrassing. Be careful around your knees and ankles because your skin is not as smooth there. You can shave as far as you want, but make sure to shave regularly because the hair on your thighs grows back a lot thicker.
I truly hope this helps you:)

myself and friends' experiences

you will learn that most things are not akaward with your mom as you grow older but at the age of 13 they are , so just do it secretly thats what i did but you should really talk to her ,shave as far as you want, it doesnt really matter

I started at 11. You should ask your mom if you can start. It may be hard but just bring it up like its nothing. For example: Mom, do you think I could start shaving my legs?..It shouldn't be that big of a deal. It wasn't for me. Good luck!

I think that age is fine.
I started when i started gym in middle school because i didn't want to be the only one with hairy legs lol
Shaving part of your thy is fine and don't worry its not such a big deal.
