Did I almost faint? Why did this happen? Is there anything I can do?!
Question: Did I almost faint? Why did this happen? Is there anything I can do?
Eat breakfast before I went into the dress.
and I jumped out of bed when she woke me up.
But how much of a difference would that make? I still feel kinda shaken and a bit out of it but still kind of focused as I'm focused enough to write this. Is there anything I can do to make this better?

It sounds like you might have gotten close to fainting but it's more likely just nerves then the dress or any part of the bed/jump/eat scenario. It's pretty ordinary, everyone has or will have a situation like it at some point, even if they don't feel afraid or nervous, it can just happen.
I have never passed out but I felt like I might once in my life, about 20 years ago now. I had trimmed the claws of my best friends canary when I nicked him and he bled a bit. Not much. I dealt with that fine and did the rest of his nails and he was back in the cage singing and had been for a little while, we'd stood in the kitchen and talked, made coffee and sat in the living room and as we were talking an hour or more later I felt all the colour leave me, like turning black and white, and I was hot suddenly, way hotter than the room, and I felt sick. Someone asked me if I was ok, she said "...you don't look ok...." and I wasn't, but I said yeah just hot and went off to the toilet and ran my wrists under the cold tap - don't know if that helped but it just felt like the right thing to do. Isn't that silly? nothing had happened that was dramatic, and all that had happened had happened at least an hour before, then it suddenly caught me. Never happened before or since and I have dealt with medical emergencies before and after, lots of blood and I'm a blood donor and I have cleaned up after a serious accident and all those things, it was just one of those weird occurrences.
Unless it happens again I wouldn't be too concerned. Oh and I also have a spot under my jaw line, lol, sometimes when I am leaning on the desk with my head rested on my hand reading the world goes black from the edges in, I figured I am cutting off my blood supply and all I have to do is move my head and it stops. That has sound associated with it, like a high pitched whistling, or the electric noise TVs make when you turn them on.
Your probably extremely nervous. The feeling of nervousness is highly underestimated, when we have anxious feelings, it can over power our bodies. Just relax, practice breathing, and drink some water.
And good luck on your competition!
