Is this normal? *period question*?!

Question: Is this normal? *period question*?
I've had my period since March of 2009 and I'm 15 yrs old, so I got it when I was 13. I got my first period of the new yr on Jan. 1st. I got it again on Jan. 24th and now again today so that's 3 periods in the course of about a month and a half. Is it normal for periods to still be irregular after having it for almost 2 yrs?
Oh also, I have swimming on Thursday for gym. I herd you can go swimming 3-4 days into your period. Is that true? I don't use tampons because they're too hard to figure out! My periods last usually 5 or 6 days and its heavy. Thanks!

You will find that it sucks but is still pretty normal to get irregular periods. If it keeps happening that itis irregular and very often and heavy set up an appointment with your Dr. you could start birth control for its other great side effects (lighter periods and regularity)

As for swimming, i have been in the same situation - i have been lifeguarding for 5 years. If you have a heavy flow you should try and use a tampon. At first they are hard to get used to but using one can prevent problems like staining your swim suit.

don't let your period stop you from doing any sports!
Good Luck :)
