Be brave enough to tell your teacher about it. It's a normal situation that she could understand it easily so go and tell her.

I am the same, I even flush the toilet to hide the sound of me opening a tampon/towel packet. I would have probably acted the same as you. I can't really think of a way you could have approached the teacher without drawing attention from your classmates. Maybe you could have asked to go to the bathroom and then found the nearest teacher?

what you need to do is take some in you bag with you always you never leave home with out it
i have a young girl and i teach her to take them with her i have them all over in my car my bags .
next time go to your teacher and tell her what happen she is a lady she know and understand the problem all to well there is nothing to be a shame about.

So instead of even having to ask for a tampon, keep some in your pencil case, and in your back pack in the hallway. then just ask to go to the bathroom, and have it up your sleeve or in your pocket,
