what is wrong with my period?!

Question: What is wrong with my period?
I have recently had all the symptoms of my period. Moody, the back pains, the cramps, headaches. My boyfriend and I have recently had sex, but I don't believe that I am pregnant. Also I have been stressed with school and all the homework I have been given. Is it normal to miss a period and know that its stress and not pregnancy. Would you even know you are pregnant without taking a pregnancy test? Like can you tell by the feelings you may get.

You do need to take a pregnancy test. Some women know the moment they get pregnant, most don't. Most don't have a clue until they miss a period or two.

It could be that you're just late and the symptoms you're having are telling you your period is on the way.

That said, it could be stress. When I was in high school, I'd miss my period for 3 months every marching band season. Just the idea of having a period when I couldn't get to a bathroom stressed me out so much, my body stopped my periods.

So, wait another week or two. If you don't get your period, get a pregnancy test. There are sites for organizations who can help you and won't take your money to murder your baby.

Periods can be inexplicably late for many reasons. It is possible to have a late or missed period due to stress or other reasons like recent illness or a sudden change in weight. This is normal and happens to a lot of women. However, if you have been sexually active you should take a pregnancy test, because any time you have sex you can get pregnant. Early on in pregnancy, it isn't possible to know 100% if you are pregnant without taking a home pregnancy test or getting verification from a doctor. This is because practically every symptom of pregnancy can easily be explained by something other than pregnancy. You wouldn't know for sure without a test until well into the 2nd trimester (you would be showing, you could feel the baby moving, etc). Feelings you get are very unreliable, because your body can create symptoms of pregnancy when you really aren't (called pseudocyesis or phantom pregnancy), and you may not have any symptoms when you really are pregnant.
