Birth control....need advice on asking mother, what to do, etc.?!

Question: Birth control....need advice on asking mother, what to do, etc.?
okay, so i really want to go on birth control for a few reasons.
1. i am considering being sexually active. not soon, but maybe in the near future. and i don't want to be if i am not on birth control
2. i want to go on it before college. i think its a good idea just in case. i'm going to college soon.
3. i have really bad cramps, discharge, etc. and i feel like my periods are messed up.
the only problem is talking with my mom about it. my parents pretty much gave me the impression when i was younger that if I have sex or get pregnant I am getting kicked to the curb. And I am NOT sexually active and I wont be for awhile, but I still really think I should get on it you know? and i dont want my parents to think that the only reason i'm getting on it is to have sex or something cause thats the LAST reason. my mom and I dont really talk about this stuff. Should I just go to planned parenthood and do it all on my own? what should i do?

i know most people don't condone lying but in awkward cases it can help, tell her your period is being irregular, tell her it's either skipping or lasting too long and that you want to see the doctor(just a regular physician) to make sure all is good, any doctor will prescribe you the pill, but be honest with the doctor as to why you're taking it, your doc wont tell anyone because of patient confidentiality agreements

i went through the same situation with my mom,, the convo is short, and when its over there is no awkwardness.

if its what you really want to do it best to ask your mom. say if she found birth control pills in your room or something, then she might be mad at you for going behind your back and assuming your taking it just for the reason of having sex because you wont have gotten a chance to explain to her why your taking it. but if your confident she wont find it and you don't want to have to say it to her then sure go ahead to planned parenthood, but i'd definitely recommend asking your mom. g'luck (: x

personal experience- i went to a planned parenthood clinic and got the implanon contraceptive and when my mom found out she was disappointed i didnt ask her first.
