large amounts of Vaginal discharge?!

I've just come back from my local GUM clinic and had a check up for my discharge and pain during sex. I've got the all clear and the lady said that the discharge could be from a hormonal thing. What else could this be? I can't just live with this anymore, the amount of discharge is so uncomfortable I've started carrying extra underwear with me to change when its really bad. Me and my partner also haven't had sex in three months because the pain during sex is unbearable. I need answers, please?
