Can implantation bleeding happen just a week after period ends?!

Question: Can implantation bleeding happen just a week after period ends?
My period ended around 2 weeks ago, though it lasted longer than usual.
Last saturday, I had slightly bloody discharge and still do now.
What could this be, please?

In theory, yes, it could be. Your cycle is counted from the first day of your period, regardless of how long your period lasts. But there are other possibilities. It could be ovulation spotting, or it could be that your hormones are just a bit out of whack this month for some reason (if your period was longer, it suggests that your estrogen levels were a bit slow to rise this cycle).

If you have reason to suspect you may be pregnant, then take a pregnancy test at the appropriate time (2 weeks after intercourse). Otherwise nothing to worry about.
