I'm 16 and i have stretch marks.. WHY?!

Question: I'm 16 and i have stretch marks.. WHY?
I have deep horizantal stretch marks on my lower back. im 16 and they've been there since i was about ten years old. im not fat i never really was. i use to be a lil chunky but most kids wore and they don't have these. they really bring down my self esteem and how i see myself. they make me so paranoid i always feel like everyone can see them! Does any other teen have these that is reading this? Have you ever had them? How'd you get rid of them?!

Answers:

im 15 and i have them on both inner sides of my thighs, near the top. i've started moisturising before i go to bed, ive heard this helps, but there are special oils you can buy to reduce the appearance, but i found them really awkward to use as they take ages to dry... You dont have to be fat to get stretch marks, its completely normal you have them. Im tall and slim and even i have them. No one notices mine until i bring them up, the reality of it is that no one will notice them unless you get paranoid and try and stand covering them up. And if someone asks, explain what they are, i watched a programme once and they asked people on the street and nearly every woman had some kind of stretch mark. be confident in what you look like

people usually get them from pregnancy, being over weight or growing quickly and it doesnt give your skin time to grow with it so your skin just sretches out. i know pregnancy and overweight is not a factor here, so its probably from you growing quickly as you were a child. they sell some lotions and cremes but most of them dont work as well as the say. cocoa butter worked best for me when i was prego. just rub it on three times daily and make sure you rub it in good and you should start seeing them diminish within 3-4 weeks. now they wont completely disappear but you or other people wont be able to see them as well. and as far as your self esteem dont let this bring it down as there are many other worse things that could be going on but are not and you just have the marks. think of them as "beauty marks" :) good luck!

I have the same issue which started when i was 14 and now I am 18. I have stretch marks on my boobs and on my thighs which was caused from growing quickly and going through puberty, it is completely normal so I wouldn't be insecure. My advice would be just to make sure your body is always moisturized, you could use some cocoa butter or other creams in the areas your most self conscience about and it will help diminish the stretch marks.

I have stretch marks on my sides. They do not go away. And many people have them. They are not always caused by being fat. They are caused by rapid growth, so a tiny growth spurt can cause the skin to stretch. You can prevent future ones with cocoa butter but there isn't much else you can do. And most people have them so don't feel bad about them.

I am 17 and I have the same problem just not on my back, its on the back of my legs and it they go from my thigh all the way down pass my knee caps. I am not big either.I went to the doctor and they said that it has to do with the body growing to fast. He also said to put pure vitamin E oil on the marks for at least 6 months and they should start to go away. I have been doing the treatment for 2 months and I can already see a difference. The vitamin E oil really is working, also my skin is really smooth.

-Hope this helps

Im 16, and I had a chunky stage too. But thats not what caused mine. Almost every teen girl had them. I have them on my thighs, and i have itty bitty chicken legs. My friend has them on her butt. My cousin has them on her breast. and I have one on my hip. Its from growing and your skin stretching when you go threw a growth spurt or dont mosterize. Try Cocoa butter by palmers its a lotion and it helps. Trust me almost everyone has them, and Guys dont even notice, at least the guys I'm with dont. :) Its not important to others, just yourself, so Relax :)

As you grow your skin stretches, it's normal. You can apply vitamin E or cocoa butter to reduce the appearance, but there really isn't too much that can be done without seeing a doctor. In the meantime keep your skin moisturised and well hydrated to avoid anymore stretch marks

You get them from growing quickly.

Stretch marks are permanent. Some people's skin is not as "elastic" as others.

No one notices them like you do.

Your self esteem should not be based on something so shallow.

you are or have been over weight.and they never go away
