Ahh tampon help!!! Somebody with experience PLEASE!!?!

Question: Ahh tampon help!!! Somebody with experience PLEASE!!?
Ok so I've never worn a tampon before and I got my second period ever today and it was actually kinda heavy which surprised me. I wear pads because that's the only thing my mom buys me, but I think I'm gonna need to wear tampons for my next period in march bc that's when my track meets start and pads feel like diapers to meh :( 2 problems though, I'm so scared to put those things in me and I dont want it to hurt! Second problem, even if I could work up the courage to put one in, my mom hasn't offered to buy them for me! So my questions are, how can get my mom to buy me tampons for track and how will I get be able to get one in!! Please help me!

Answers:

Just approach your mom and say, "I'd feel more comfortable using tampons for during track season." and she'll be compliant (because she is a girl and I am sure she has used them). Tampons come with a guide on how to put them in and take them out on the inside of the box.

You shouldn't be afraid - remember many women use them when they have their periods with no problems.

Wash your hands - make sure they are clean and then read/look at the diagram on how to hold the tampon (basically forefinger on the plastic, thumb on the bottom to push). Sit on the toilet with your legs spread or stand with on leg on the toilet and one on the floor (choose what is comfortable for you). You're gonna aim at a sort of angle towards the small of your back and just push slowly in until it's as far back as is comfortable. You'll feel a little resistance once it hits your cervix.

Remember it won't get stuck inside you (you can easily pull it out with the string - just relax) and it won't get lost inside you because there is no where for it to go. Don't leave the tampon in for more than 8 hours. You can leave it in while peeing you just may want to hold the string aside. After using a tampon you may want to use a pad so that your body can clear out the bacteria. It's best to sleep with a pad on (but I've heard of women sleeping in tampons). I know on the weekend that I sleep more than 8 hours so I don't sleep in tampons.

Tell her that you simply need protection that's appropriate for physical activity. Pads can cause chafing and rashes if you're active in them, plus it's just uncomfortable to wear them when you're being active. I'm sure she'll understand.

To put them in, it's not hard at all. Put one leg up on your counter, or the toilet, and insert the tip inside. Then point the tampon back a little, not straight up because the vagina curves backwards inside, and push it in.

Tell you mom what you just wrote. You are in track and you don't want to have to worry about pads while running. They normally have instructions in the box, you could ask your mom but the most important thing to know is the stay relaxed (it makes it so much easier).

It tells you how to put them in on the box. You could also search youtube. I'm sure your mother will not care if you ask her to buy tampons for you. I would recommend Tampax Pearl...make sure they are plastic.

For your mom, tell her that you want to use tampons for track because you would feel more comfortable, and you cant feel them.
To use them
they do come with a instruction manual, which can help you also I recommend Tampax plastic, for beginning., normal, or light, depending if ur period is always light or heavy or moderate...
Directions:::
-wash ur hands, first of all
I per fer to sit on the toilet with your legs spread apart, its an easier angle for myself,
unwrap the tampon and pull the inner tube out, tug the string, a little just to make sure its straight, and in place..
then with ur free hand, use 2 fingers, or so, and open ur vagina a bit so its easier to insert
for the grip of the tampon, put one finger on the lines, and the other on the top of th inner tube,
RELAX-most important. it will make everything easier and shouldn't hurt. Relax as if you were peeing, DO NOT tense up , if u start to tense up, relax again and continue..
put the tampon into ur vagina, and push it all the way until ur fingers with the rigged lines touch your vagina, then push the inner tube all the way up. Gently take BOTH tubes out, and make sure the string is hanging down..

If you have to push the tampon in, like push hard then its not at the right angle, or your not relaxed enough. Remember you have to be completely relaxed, like ur peeing.

Hope helped some
