Why is my period taking so long to come?!

Question: Why is my period taking so long to come?
Ok I am 20 years old and I had sex last week monday. We used the withdrawal method first and then a condom. I believe everything was fine until I realized that my period still hasn't come yet. Usually I always get it in the middle of the month, but so far I have no period. I've been really tired and extra hungry lately. I'm guessing my period is on its way soon because I took a pregnancy test on saturday and it came out negative. So why is my period taking long to come? Thanks for answering.

Answers:

When you have sex, it can alter your period cycle. Once when I had sex, my period was set off for over two weeks. Believe me, I was freaking out, even though I used protection...

I'm sure you know this, but, just incase, pulling out is never really a great method of birth control. If you plan on being continuously sexually active, perhaps you should investigate birth control pills. There are many benefits (clearer skin, for example), and the only downside is that you have to get a pap smear, which isn't really THAT big of a downside, because it really does need to be done for medical purposes. You can get low cost or free birth control at health departments.
