How long do all these tests take?!


Question: How long do all these tests take?
I went to the hospital for stomach pains january 28th and it will be 3 weeks tmrw. They took urine test, blood, pap test, ultrasound, and xray I know xray and ultrasound are right away but I wanna know when to expect a call if there is something wrong in the other tests. They said in the internal (pap) that they saw a cyst but they still swabbed me and I'm all scared that they will find cancer or something and I'm just wondering how long the results take so I can be prepared or stop worrying.

Normally a couple of weeks. They should have told you. But if you don't hear anything, that means the tests were all negative. Wait another week and then call if you're really worried, but they only contact people who had positive tests.

They should have told you when to call back. Normally urine tests results come back right after they take the urine, if not the next day. Some blood tests come back the same day or the next day. And most doctors have you call back for pap smear results within a week. Its been three weeks for you so I'm sure all the results are in by now. I wouldn't worry too much though. If the results were bad (cancer, STD, etc) they would have called you by now. I would call the doctor/hospital back now and ask if your results are in. If they aren't, ask when you can expect them to be in.
