First time tampons, suggestions?!

Question: First time tampons, suggestions?
I'm going on holiday in a few days, and I will have to use tampons for the first time. I was considering getting tampax pearl with all 3 absorbencies just to try them out. But if anyone else knows any other good brands available in the uk I would be grateful to know about them.

Also any tips for the first time would be appreciated, Thanks

Tampax is a great brand so I'd definitely use them. Make sure you buy ones with applicators as non-applicator tampons are incredibly fiddly and it is very difficult to get it up far enough. I find the best way to insert a tampon is to sit on the toilet and push it in and it tends to go in pretty easy without too much difficulty. Make sure there is enough string hanging loose so you can remove the tampon when needed I recommend changing them every 4 hours but no more than 8 at the most. I am personally more comfortable using towels at night simply because of the toxic shock risk. Also use the lowest absorbency level possible for your flow because that greatly reduces the risk of toxic shock. Don't forget about your tampon if needs be set an alarm on your phone. Good luck and have a great holiday :)

Tampax are the best in my opinion too. I just used the normal ones not the pearl ones. But I'm sure the tampax pearl ones are good too :)

I started with the smallest size tampon first for my first time then found it was so easy, I could easily use the next size up etc. Just relax, it's not a big deal - it seems scary but it's not :)

I found sort of squatting down helped me personally as well, but some people find putting a leg on the side of a bath tub or toilet or just standing works best for them. Just remember to relax and do what feels comfortable and it'll be fine :)

Good luck x

TIP: dont go straight up into the body as the tube is diagonal (towards your spine) also don't put them in unless you are due for a period. and if you want to go swimming when your period is due, you use tampons then.
REMEMBER!!!!: DONT wear tampons unless ur due!! Don't even put them in for a practice even if it is for like 10 minutes. and use a small size at first :) also tampax is a good brand and many other brands can't beat it lol.
hope dis helped!!! :D
Oh yes!! and as charlotte hall metioned there is a sickness called toxic shock syndrome!!
Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a rare, life-threatening illness that is caused by toxins (poisons) that circulate in the bloodstream. Bacteria that have infected some part of the body release these toxins. People with toxic shock syndrome develop high fever, rash, low blood pressure, and failure of multiple organ systems in the body.

Toxic shock syndrome was first found in children in 1978. However, toxic shock syndrome did not become familiar until an epidemic in 1981, linked to women using tampons.
