Your first period is very very light and does not last for long at all! It's almost like a practice period to prepare your body for the real thing. When I started mine it was very light and only lasted a day! I then went the next month without nothing and then started to fall into a regular cycle (:

I just got my period a few mounths ago. That is absolutly the exact same way I got mine. It will get heavier though.

I just got mine for the first time Tuesday. Yes it is usually light, and you are lucky you realized fast.
