Did the Next Choice fail?!

Question: Did the Next Choice fail?
Okay so i took the Next choice pill in january on the 19th and got my period the 23rd. After my period ended, i had a oopsy on Feb 1st and took the Next Choice on Feb 2 (The first pill at night and the second one early in the morning the following day) I wasnt ovulating until Feb 5th but i know that sperm can live inside a woman for 3-5 days. My probably is, Its Feb 17 and my period hasnt come yet, Its due on Febuary 23rd. I went to the doctor two days ago for a checkup, they took a pregnancy test (pee wise) and it came out negative but online is says that I'm suppose to test on Feb 18th. So should i test tomorrow? Am i worried for no reason? Has anyone gone through this?

Also, i do plan to start BC asap. Also, after i took the next choice pill the second time, i developed a yeast infection like 2 days later. Is that a side effect to the pill or what?? Please no hateful comments. Thank you.

It's common for emergency contraception to mess up your cycle, making your period either earlier or later than normal. In any case, you said your period isn't due till Feb 23rd so you are not even late yet.

Emergency contraception isn't 100% effective, but if the previous test came back negative, then I am fairly sure you are not pregnant (they say 2 weeks to be safe, but they can sometimes detect HCG as early as 10 days). I don't see any reason to take another test so soon given that your period is not even due yet (and indeed, may well be late because of the emergency contraception).

So my advice is to chill out, you are being a little too anxious. Most likely you are not pregnant given these circumstances. Just give it a week or two for your period to come. After then you can think about testing again. And yes, do consider using some contraception in future. You should not use emergency contraception more than twice a year, and you have used it twice in 1 month. Doc Julio recommends condoms (with our without BC pills) because they also help protect against stds

Oh, and yes, the emergency contraception might have been a factor with the yeast infection. It can change the environment inside the vagina, and allow the yeast to flourish. But equally it may have been just coincidence.
