I Need Help With My Wifes Sickness?!
Question: I Need Help With My Wifes Sickness?
She has a history of dehidration and large advil consumption. not sure if that should matter, but I can't do anything but her mother is there and taking orders. i already instructed her to get plently of liquids and get some ice on her forehead. also not to look at too many lights, and to lay in a dark room to get her to fall asleep and rest. she also has a high fever. Am I doing anything wrong? and if so i need proper instructions.

Sounds like the classic symptoms of the flu--fever, achy muscles, headache. Youv'e given her good advice. She'll feel better shortly. Also, I know from experience that if you take lots of Advil and then reduce or stop it, every muscle will hurt. That could be part of the problem.
Large Advil consumption can cause gastrointestinal bleeds. Lay off!
Fever will be reduced by Tylenol, not ibuprofen. ''High'' fever is a relative term. Chances are it's a 'normal' fever. High fever would have her in the hospital.
Aching limbs can be consistent with flu symptoms. 'Tis the season.
She should also be replacing her electrolytes if she has been vomiting or experiencing diarrhea. Gatorade and saltine crackers are bland enough to do this without upsetting her.
Speak with a doctor if these symptoms worsen in the next few days or if she develops a rash or hoarse cough.
The best thing to do now is rest.
