Can you please tell me what this is and why it came out of me?!

Question: Can you please tell me what this is and why it came out of me?
I was having the worst cramps of my life today, and I thought it was just going to be bad period cramps but it hurt worse than any other time. I went to the bathroom later to change my tampon and when I pulled out my tampon this came with it. I don't know what it is but I'm assuming its what caused me so much pain. Can you please tell me what it is and if i should be worried. The pictures are kind of nasty. I thought it might of been part of the tampon so i tried to pull it apart and it felt like skin.

Is there ANY possible way you could have been pregnant?

If not, that is a very big piece of uterine lining. Like the others said go to the doctor. Take this with you if you still have it. If not take the photos.

***I showed my sister this question and she was unsure. So, she is going to ask her OB/GYN what she thinks.***

As i doctor i recommend you go see your GP straight away, take it in a specimen jar so that a tissue sample can be taken, i am worried that it looks the way it does, it is certainly not a blood clot, but i could be wrong as i haven't done any tests. Please go see someone very soon, and don't be embarrassed by it because doctors see those sorts of things all the time. Also, refrain from using any tampons for now, i wouldn't put anything near the area for a while, just to be safe.

Doctor

I don't want to scare you, but I'm 35 and I've never seen anything like that. When I read your question I assumed it was clots or part of your hymen. All a hymen is, is a fold of skin anyway, but I do not know what that is. Don't be embarrassed, go to your doctor. They've seen it all. P.S. I googled images of miscarried fetus's and that doesn't look like one. Hopefully, that wasn't the case.

You need to wrap that and take it to a doctor or to an ER. It is possible this is an early miscarriage. You need to be examined. You will feel fine even if it was a miscarriage, once everything has been expelled.

A doctor will need to determine if it is a complete miscarriage, or if perhaps you need a D & C to clean out anything retained.

it just blood clots, and probably part of your hymen. It's probably fine

...I have terrible cramps every time

Go to the hospital immediately. My guess would be a miscarriage. Are you sexually active?

That looks like a miscarriage @.@ Deffinately go to a gyno

Look like a miscarriage, Go to you Dr tomorrow ASAP!!!

Oh my god...I have no idea what that could be
but if I were you, i would go see a dr.
Hope u feel better.

ok wow. you should probably go to the doctor for this one. that really doesn't look normal. are you sexually active? maybe it was a early pregnancy miscarriage?

Were you at the end of your period? At the end of your cycle, the amount of estrogen that your body produces changes causing the vaginal discharge to appear less bloody and more white, thick, and gooey. Unless this was smelly, I would say that it's just normal uterine tissue that was sloughed off during your period. I see nothing remotely embryonic in either of those photos.

There's also the possibility of this being the remnants of a ruptured ovarian cyst, which would explain the increase in pain. It's very possible for fluid, tissue, and muscus to make it's way down the uterine tube, through the uterus, and out of the vagina.

Don't get worked up and don't clog the E.R. unless you're running a fever and the discharge has a foul odor. I would call the doctor this coming week just to touch base, but I honestly don't think it's anything to worry about.

Well what happens during your menstrual cycle is that the interior of the uterus sloughs off and comes out. Usually not in such big pieces though. You should avoid tampons for the next 24 hours so that you can access whether or not you are bleeding too much. However, from the photos you show, it appears to be the normal uterine tissue that generally comes out with your menses, but just in a larger piece than usual. If you think there is any possibility you were pregnant, I would see the Dr. as this could be a sign of a miscarriage. Really though, it just appears to be a large piece of uterine lining.
