Would this work in sheding pounds?!

Question: Would this work in sheding pounds?
My rough spot as a lot of other women is my mid-section, mainly my thighs and calves...I have an extremely small waste and fairly decent arms...my question is if I only work out walking on the treadmill at fast speeds and intensity, and do the eliptical, those two only every day or every other day for two hours, is it enough to help me burn fat in my legs and tone them?

Sure that's a great way to burn fat, but why not look at interval training too? Instead of spending 2 hours at the gym you should be able to cut down that time by half if you do intense sprints up to 10-20 seconds and then moderate jogging /running in between. I would definitely do some lower body weight resistance training too. Maybe you could buy a workout dvd to give you Inspiration or join a class? Resistance training will increase muscle in that area which will burn calories more efficiently. happy training!

When you burn fat, it goes from all over your body, not just one spot.

It's impossible to burn fat on a specific spot. You can however use weights to tone the muscle in that area and help reduce the unsightly effects of fat cells.

Try a cycling class, or biking around town up and down hills. This will tone the muscles in your upper and inner thigh, as well as hamstring, buttocks, and hip flexor. It also does some abs and upper body depending on how hard you're cycling.

Squats are also another great workout for butt and legs.

Walking is a good way to burn calories, but keep in mind you will have to walk ALOT to get same results as a very intense short cardio workout.
